The Geochemical Society is pleased to announce four special lectures to be given at the 2026 Goldschmidt Conference. The Earl Ingerson Lecture will be delivered by Prof. Sujay Kaushal of the University of Maryland. He is recognized for documenting the progressive salinization of inland waterways in the United States (and worldwide) resulting primarily from the application of salts and fertilizers to our roads and lawns.

The Endowed Biogeochemistry Lecture will be given by Elizabeth Griffith of the Ohio State University. The selection honors her research on calcium cycles and the production, distribution, and interpretation of marine barite records.

The Robert Berner Lecture (a joint award with EAG) will be presented by Matthew Winnick of the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His application of reactive transport approaches has not only spawned a new understanding of the isotopic composition of rainfall, but also provided targeted insights into carbon cycling over timescales of days to millions of years and length scales from soils to global.

The Paul Gast Lecture (a joint award with EAG) will be delivered by Rita Parai of Washington University in St. Louis. She is recognized for her application of noble gas isotope geochemistry to a wide range of questions, including the origin of volatiles in planets, the formation of the Moon, Earth's early environmental conditions, and chemical cycling between surface and deep Earth.
