The Geochemical Society is governed by a board of nine officers and eight directors. All current members are eligible to vote in the board election, which is held each November.
President—leads the Board of Directors. Also serves on the Goldschmidt Forum, the Joint Publications Committee and the Geochemical Fellows Selection Committee.
Vice President—appoints volunteers for committee positions. Also serves on the Goldschmidt Forum.
Past President—provides corporate memory to the organization.
Treasurer—administers the society's finances including tax reporting and creating an annual budget for Board approval.
Secretary—manages Board communications and reports the Board minutes.
International Secretary—works to increase membership and participation from under-represented countries.
OGD Chair—leads the Executive Committee of the Organic Geochemistry Division.
Goldschmidt Officer—leads the Local Organizing Committee of the next Goldschmidt Conference planned by the GS.
GCA Executive Editor—provides editorial leadership of Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta. Also serves on the Joint Publications Committee.
Directors (8)—provide regional guidance and perspective to the Board. Two positions are reserved for early career researchers.

The Geochemical Society is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the United States. Contributions to the society are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
