Non-Officer Director
Non-Officer Directors participate in Board discussion and serve on the Board as voting members.
This is a three-year term of service. In order for the Board membership to reflect the regional diversity of the Society membership, this year requires election of one officer from North America (Region 1) and one from outside North America and Europe (Region 3).
Director - Position 1

ANNE PESLIER
Anne Peslier is Senior Scientist/Geologist, and Manager of the Electron Microprobe at the Astromaterials Research and Exploration Science Division, NASA-Johnson Space Center. Her research interests include the interior of terrestrial planets through petrology and geochemistry, specifically water in silicate glasses and nominally anhydrous silicate minerals; chemical characterization of samples from the Earth's mantle lithosphere by electron microprobe, FTIR, SEM and TIMS; and Mars and the Moon geochemistry.
COLLEEN HANSEL
Colleen Hansel is a Microbial Geochemist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Her research explores the biotic and abiotic reaction networks that are involved in biogeochemical cycles and mineralization, with a more recent emphasis on short-lived reactive intermediates, such as reactive oxygen species (ROS), that despite their deceptively low concentrations, have a disproportionately large influence on marine chemistry.
Director - Position 2

YUJI SANO
Yuji Sano is Professor at the Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute, University of Tokyo, Japan. To assist his research interests, recently established a noble gas laboratory for atmospheric and oceanic research and the NanoSIMS laboratory for paleoceanography and planetary sciences.
YIGANG XU
Yigang Xu is Director General at the Guangzhou Institution of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Science. His research interests include crustal and mantle composition and processes, and lithosphere dynamics; Large igneous provinces and plume tectonics (Permian Emeishan and Tarim flood basalts); and linkage between Earth's interior processes and Earth system changes.
